Detailed Insights on Disney’s Successful Recruitment Drive in Trinidad and Tobago

Disney Cruise Line conducted a recruitment drive at Queen’s Hall, Port of Spain, on May 15 and 16, 2024, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism in Trinidad and Tobago, as per a press release.

The cruise line selected potential candidates to fill positions in Food and Beverage, Guest Services, Galley Jobs, Lifeguards, and Culinary. The roles were publicized in local newspapers and online over a fortnight. Approximately 80 applicants were chosen for face-to-face interviews conducted by the Disney Cruise Line recruitment team. The ministry reported that over 90 percent of the applicants interviewed during the two-day drive will receive letters of intent from Disney Cruise Line.

Minister of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts Randall Mitchell expressed, “The Ministry is keen to support recruitment efforts led by Cruise Lines, particularly following such a prosperous 2023-24 cruise season for Trinidad and Tobago. Initiatives such as this provide our residents with the chance to exhibit our culture, their personal abilities, and earn foreign income in the international market. I extend my congratulations to all the successful candidates and good luck on their new ventures. I also want to express my gratitude to Disney Cruise Line and Meridian Recruitment Agency Limited for their role in providing professional advancement opportunities for our citizens.”

Meridian Recruitment Agency Limited, who oversaw the recruitment, shared that over 5,000 locals sent e-applications for the opportunity to work with Disney Cruise Line. After an initial pre-screening process, the agency selected 150 candidates for further review and consideration for the particular positions. 80 appropriate candidates were then invited for face-to-face interviews at Queen’s Hall.

Successful applicants will get an official email from Disney Cruise Line confirming their selection.

Permanent Secretary (Ag.) of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, Mr. Videsh Maharaj, Mr. Charles Carvalho, CEO of Meridian Recruitment Agency Limited, alongside the Disney Cruise Line Recruiters were present during the event.
