Carnival Vista Scheduled for Repairs Before Embarking on Next Cruise
The Carnival Vista is set for technical repairs prior to its next journey, scheduled for August 18, 2024.
A statement from Carnival Cruise Line indicates that the maintenance will address recent issues with propulsion that have been causing the ship to travel at reduced speeds.
“Our team on both land and sea has been actively addressing a problem that has been affecting the cruising speed of the Carnival Vista,” the company communicated to its booked passengers.
While currently engaged in an eight-night Caribbean cruise, the ship, launched in 2016, plans to be back in Port Canaveral for its subsequent voyage on Sunday, August 18.
Carnival has announced that in order to manage the repairs, the Carnival Vista will be returning to its homeport early in the morning.
To ensure a complete day for maintenance with the company’s engineers and technical staff, the ship is slated to dock at Port Canaveral by about 3:30 AM, as per the company’s schedule.
“Additionally, we are scheduling a delayed departure on the same evening to make the most of the available workday. Despite this adjustment, the first day at sea on Monday will not alter our scheduled arrival at Half Moon Cay on Tuesday, August 20,” stated Carnival.
Following its departure from Port Canaveral, the Carnival Vista will conduct a six-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean and the Bahamas.
This itinerary includes stops at Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos, and Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic.
Travelers are encouraged to stick to their plans for arriving at the cruise terminal at their chosen check-in times.
“Once on board, guests can partake in the various fun activities and entertainment options available, although certain venues and services will remain closed until we reach international waters,” noted the company.
Carnival also clarified that the prevailing technical issue has no effect on other ship operations besides the ship’s cruising speed.
The Carnival Vista, constructed at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Italy, commenced service in 2016. Earlier this year, the ship that can accommodate 4,000 guests traveled back to Europe for a planned drydock at the Navantia yard in Cádiz, Spain. Read more about the maintenance.
