Transcend Cruises Unveils Partnership with Tillberg Design for Innovative River Cruise Ships

The new travel brand, Transcend Cruises, a UK-based, charter-only river cruise line and ship owner, has signed a construction agreement with Den Breejen Shipyard for their inaugural river cruise vessel. This first ship is forecasted to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a potential second vessel expected in 2026, dependent on additional financing.

The vessel’s design is a collaboration with Tillberg Design of Sweden.

Transcend Cruises seeks to cater to the affinity market, tour operators, travel advisors, and meeting and incentive planners, offering a novel alternative to traditional land-based conferences and events along Europe’s waterways.

Approximately 143 feet (about 44 meters) in length, the boats are designed with spaces and services suited specifically for group charters. Each ship will hold a maximum of 120 passengers in 60 identical staterooms, which can be merged and transformed into 30 two-room suites, allowing varied group configurations from 30 to 120 participants.

As a B2B-focused entity, Transcend Cruises plans to enhance its ships with modern technology to facilitate customization for charter clients to boost their brand visibility through adaptable features like digital signage, tailored lighting, and personalized sound and imagery systems. Emphasizing sustainability, the design includes features like stage-five low-emission engines, an electric thruster system for zero-emissions maneuvering, innovative food waste reduction technology, and a dedication to employing and sourcing locally.
