Aurora Expeditions Expands Horizons: Introducing Exciting New Destinations and Enhanced Experiences

Aurora Expeditions has unveiled its 2026 Arctic and Beyond season, adding exciting new destinations such as Southeast Asia, the Mediterranean, and the Atlantic Coast.

This upcoming season features 42 scheduled departures, including adventurous trips to Indonesia and Borneo. Travelers can also witness the 2026 solar eclipse from Greenland as part of the Jewels of the Arctic journey. Furthermore, new routes across the Arctic along with extra excursions to Costa Rica and Scotland have been introduced.

A defining addition to the 2026 season is the launch of Small Ship Cruises. These cruises will navigate through the Mediterranean, Atlantic Coast, British Isles, and Ireland, offering guided tours and extensive land programs before and after the cruise alongside immersive shore excursions.

“The Aurora approach to travel centers on deep destination engagement and ethically responsible exploration on smaller vessels, in a casual, informal ambiance. This remains consistent no matter the destination,” explained Michael Heath, CEO of Aurora Expeditions. “The 2026 Arctic and Beyond season represents a significant development for us. Starting from primarily polar and remote destinations, we now embrace a wider array of environments and adventurous styles, enhancing the experiences available for our guests. This season also enhances our offerings for solo travelers with ten dedicated single cabins, without a solo supplement, available on each voyage,” Heath continued.

Michael Heath also shared excitement about expanding their fleet with the addition of the Douglas Mawson, aiming to innovate and diversify the options available to both returning patrons and new explorers.

From 2026, Aurora Expeditions plans to equip each of its three ships with ten solo traveler cabins, available across different stateroom categories, to better accommodate individual travelers.

Highlights of the 2026 Arctic and Beyond program include:

  • Jewels of the Arctic (Solar Eclipse 2026): Oslo/Reykjavik, Aug. 2-26, 2026 on the Sylvia Earle;
