MS Birka Gotland Achieves Milestone: 160,000 Passengers Transported in Summer 2024

During the summer of 2024, approximately 160,000 passengers embarked on journeys across the Baltic Sea aboard the newest cruise vessel, the MS Birka Gotland.

The ship operated from June through August, offering a variety of routes which included short trips to Aland/Mariehamn and a notable 31 voyages to Visby.

The MS Birka Gotland also visited other beloved spots in the Baltic Sea, like Hoga Kusten, Ystad, and Bornholm. After an extensive refit and under new management since March 2024, the vessel also broadened its departure points, enabling easier access for residents of both Aland and Gotland.

Extended cruises to Hoga Kusten, Ystad, and Bornholm were particularly successful, gaining from solid relationships with these ports and delivering a diverse selection of shore-based excursions. With July holding the peak passenger count due to the industrial holiday, August was also a high season for this cruise operator.
