Silversea Announces Plans for New 150-Room Hotel Development in Chile

Silversea has unveiled its plans to establish a hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile.

A recent press release indicated that this new property aims to offer an unparalleled experience for those venturing to Antarctica through the company’s Antarctica Bridge fly-cruise offering.

The hotel is designed to ensure a seamless journey in the area, as stated by Silversea, enabling travelers to enjoy tailored service and hospitality throughout their adventure.

Constructed in collaboration with a group of Chilean investors, the 150-room hotel is set to be finished by the end of 2025.

The commencement of construction was celebrated at a recent groundbreaking event attended by partners, Chilean government officials, and key stakeholders.

“As we continue to elevate the ultimate vacation experience for our guests, this new hotel enables us to provide an unparalleled Antarctic expedition that enriches our extensive array of world-class travel options across our brands,” commented Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group.

“Working alongside our skilled teams in Chile, we are offering guests a distinct chance to discover one of the planet’s most stunning and remote locations, aligning with our commitment to offer unforgettable vacation experiences,” he added.

Silversea reportedly stands as the only cruise line that operates a homeport from Puerto Williams during the Antarctic season.

Situated in the sub-Antarctic area of the Patagonia region of Chile, at the southern edge of South America, Puerto Williams is an ideal starting point for travelers who wish to explore the world’s least frequented continent, according to the company.

“We’re excited to enrich the Antarctic travel experience by providing seamless journeys that eliminate conventional obstacles for guests to access this region,” stated Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea.

“This development not only sets us apart from other polar expeditions but also reinforces our dedication to innovation and excellence, as Silversea continues to lead in experiential luxury travel.”

Overlooking the Beagle Channel, the hotel will provide views of the water and snow-covered Patagonian mountains. Facilities will include a restaurant perfect for group events, a bar and lounge, a fitness center, and a gift shop featuring crafts and art from local artisans.
