MSC Adjusts Itineraries and Postpones Cruise Plans Amid Hurricane Milton Threat

MSC Cruises is revising its cruise schedule in the Caribbean and Florida in response to Hurricane Milton’s effects.

In an update from Koreen McNutt, the U.S. Commercial Sales Officer, it was revealed that the MSC Seashore’s upcoming voyage has been postponed and there will be modifications to the itinerary for the MSC Magnifica.

“We are closely monitoring Hurricane Milton as it travels across the Gulf of Mexico towards the western coast of Florida,” stated MSC Cruises.

“To prioritize the safety of our guests and crew, we will implement itinerary changes to maintain a safe distance from the storm’s projected path,” the company further explained.

The MSC Seashore was initially scheduled to depart from Port Canaveral on Thursday, Oct. 10, but it is now anticipated to set sail a day later.

Currently, the ship is on a four-night cruise from Port Canaveral, which includes a visit to its private island destination in the Bahamas, Ocean Cay, as originally planned.

The ship’s return to Port Canaveral depends on the port’s reopening, which is presently closed by the U.S. Coast Guard, as noted by MSC.

Consequently, it is now predicted that the MSC Seashore’s upcoming cruise will depart on Friday, Oct. 11.

“If Port Canaveral receives clearance from the U.S. Coast Guard to reopen in a timely manner, we will proceed with a shortened two-night sailing,” MSC mentioned.

This cruise is expected to stop at Ocean Cay before heading back to Port Canaveral on Oct. 13 as scheduled.

Meanwhile, the MSC Magnifica, currently departing from Miami, is on a four-night cruise that began on Monday, Oct. 7.

Due to the storm’s trajectory, instead of heading to the Bahamas, the 2010-built ship has been rerouted to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.

The return to PortMiami remains unchanged, with a departure set for Oct. 11 expected to proceed without modifications to embarkation times and itinerary.
