Antigua Cruise Port Prepares for a Record Season with an Exciting Lineup of Ship Visits

The start of the 2024-2025 cruise season has officially begun at Antigua Cruise Port, marked by the arrival of the first ship, Celebrity Summit, on the morning of Tuesday, October 8th.

Located at Heritage Quay, the port greeted both passengers and crew, ushering in a season filled with hope for a bustling and prosperous period. The following day, Wednesday, October 9th, saw Rhapsody of the Seas, a vessel from Royal Caribbean, making its entry, signifying the second ship of the season.

The Ministry of Tourism expressed its pride in the moment, highlighting the importance of the Celebrity Summit’s arrival – the debut Celebrity Cruises ship at the port for this season. Passengers took the opportunity to disembark and delve into the lively culture and shopping experiences available at the bustling Heritage Quay.

Rhapsody of the Seas brought aboard 2,040 passengers, docking from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., giving visitors a chance to fully engage with Antigua’s local offerings. This ship is among several that are set to arrive throughout October 2024, with a consistent flow of cruise liners anticipated to enhance tourist activity on the island.

Future arrivals include Celebrity Summit again on October 14 with 2,158 passengers, Sapphire Princess on October 19th with 2,678 passengers, and the larger Regal Princess on October 20th, which is expected to bring in 3,560 passengers.

The month will wrap up with the return of Sapphire Princess on October 31st, marking the end of a busy and successful kickoff to the cruise season at Heritage Quay.

Once again, the port serves as a gateway to the natural beauty and cultural richness of Antigua, welcoming thousands of international visitors to the island.
