AIDA Unveils Exciting 2025 Ship Modernization and World Cruise Plans

In February 2025, AIDA Cruises will embark on its largest fleet modernization initiative to date, known as AIDA Evolution. This program is designed to improve ship technology, enhance service, and elevate the guest experience throughout the fleet.

The first ship to receive these upgrades will be the AIDAdiva, which will enter the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille (France) for a seven-week dry dock period, starting from February 3rd until March 22nd, 2025. The focus of this refurbishment will be on enhancing technical systems and improving onboard amenities for greater comfort and dining variety.

The renovated AIDAdiva will showcase an improved array of dining options. Guests will have access to eight restaurants and fifteen bars and cafes, featuring a wide range of both national and international dishes. Among the new highlights is the Yacht Club Restaurant, designed to provide a maritime dining experience with light seasonal dishes and international flavors. An adjacent Lanai Bar will offer refreshing drinks such as AIDA Spritz and sunset cocktails in an outdoor environment.

On Deck 11, the French Kiss Restaurant will introduce guests to French cuisine, serving delights from steak tartare to classic pastries. Close to this venue, an Asian restaurant will present dishes such as sushi, dim sum, and Japanese okonomiyaki. Additionally, the new Tokyo Bar will enhance the Asian dining experience with its specialty drinks. Deck 10 will host the French Kiss Bar & Bistro, where guests can enjoy French snacks and beverages, while Deck 11 will feature an Ice Bar providing ice cream and waffles.

For those craving Spanish flavors, the Tapas & Bar on Deck 9 will offer a selection of hot and cold tapas, perfectly paired with wines, sherries, and Spanish beers. At the front of Deck 10, the newly added Panorama Lounge & Bar will provide stunning views along with a varied drink menu. The revamped Ocean Club on Deck 12 will cater to teens in the daytime and transform into a lively music and dance venue at night.

In addition to these new offerings, well-loved establishments such as the Market Restaurant, Buffalo Steak House, Gourmet Restaurant Rossini, and Almhutte will receive updates during the dry dock period.

2025 Summer Program: After its refurbishment, AIDAdiva will kick off three Mediterranean itineraries starting March 23, 2025, with departures from Rome/Civitavecchia to destinations including Valletta, Siracusa, Palermo, and Naples. Throughout the summer, the vessel will depart from Rostock/Warnemunde, exploring the beautiful Baltic Sea and the picturesque Norwegian fjords.

World Tour 2025-2026: Beginning on November 10th, 2025, AIDAdiva will set sail on its inaugural world tour, marking AIDA’s longest voyage ever at 133 days. This journey will encompass five continents and 27 countries, visiting both the east and west coasts of the U.S. and Japan for the first time on an AIDA world cruise. Notable experiences will include a New Year’s Eve celebration in Hawaii, along with stops at 55 ports, the most ever featured on an AIDA world tour.

Future Modernizations: Following the renovation of AIDAdiva, the modernization efforts will extend to AIDAluna and AIDAbella, which are set for dry dock refurbishments in fall 2025 and spring 2026, respectively. These vessels from the Sphinx series, launched between 2007 and 2013, played a significant role in establishing AIDA’s trademark open-space design and customer experience. The upcoming updates will further enhance these ships to adapt to changing industry trends.
