TUI Cruises has revealed the name of what will become the ninth addition to their expanding fleet and the second newly constructed mega-ship in the cutting-edge inTUItion class.
In a break from tradition, similar to the first ship in the series, Mein Schiff Relax, this new vessel will not carry a number typical of the TUI Cruises’ fleet; instead, it will be named Mein Schiff Flow.
Set to launch in 2026, the new ship aims to offer a unique ambiance that encourages guests to “go with the flow” and relish a soothing atmosphere on board for an invigorating escape.
“We are thrilled to meet the rising interest in cruises with the introduction of the Mein Schiff Flow. Our ninth ship is inspired by the Mein Schiff Relax, which is also part of the InTUItion class,” stated Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises. “The name ‘Flow’ is embedded in the entire design of the ship, creating a unique atmosphere onboard that encourages relaxation and a sense of ease.”
Mein Schiff Flow will feature a spacious and open layout not only in its public spaces but also extending this concept to its staterooms and suites.
Although specific details about the new ship are yet to be revealed, the theme of tranquility and a more relaxed environment will undoubtedly influence the vessel’s architecture, color scheme, lighting, artwork, and other design elements.
Moreover, as the second vessel in this new class, Mein Schiff Flow is expected to incorporate many of the same features found on its sister ship. Elements from Mein Schiff Relax that would be fitting for Mein Schiff Flow include the atrium’s expansive windows, a multilevel sun deck, generous lounging areas, and much more.
One noteworthy feature that will enhance the airy atmosphere of the ship is the shadow roof. This distinctive design showcases an arched, open wicker-like structure that encourages air circulation, maintains a cool environment, and allows filtered sunlight to shine through.
“The iconic roof, reminiscent of a sunlit grotto, will not only be a sight to behold from a distance but also provides guests with an exceptional retreat. It’s a one-of-a-kind space likely unlike anything else found on other ships,” explained Björn Asmussen, an architect from 3Deluxe who contributed to the design of the roof for Mein Schiff Relax.
Mein Schiff Flow is currently being constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard located in Monfalcone, Italy, where Mein Schiff Relax has also recently completed its initial round of sea trials.
As TUI Cruises rapidly expands with the launch of two 161,000-gross ton inTUItion-class ships set to debut in 2025 and 2026, they are making a significant mark in the industry. These new ships are substantially larger than others in the fleet, with Mein Schiff 7 currently being the largest at just 112,982 gross tons.
In addition, the newly introduced ships will have the capacity to accommodate a significantly larger number of enthusiastic travelers, with a projected reception of 3,984 guests. In contrast, the existing vessels in the fleet can host roughly 2,500 passengers each.

“This enhancement will elevate the fleet’s capacity by nearly 60 percent,” Wybcke Meier elaborates. “This ongoing and sustainable growth is an integral aspect of our long-term vision, especially aimed at catering to the rising interest in experience-focused cruises. Expanding the fleet not only boosts our capacity but also allows us to attract diverse target audiences and explore new markets.”
Concurrently, TUI Cruises remains attentive to the importance of sustainable growth and responsible cruising practices that align with environmental standards.
Both of the new vessels will utilize liquefied natural gas (LNG) as their source of power and will feature shore power connections to reduce the impact on local port communities.
A variety of initiatives onboard are set to further enhance each ship’s environmental sustainability, ensuring they will have a prolonged service life that can adapt to evolving conditions and environmental requirements.
Though the maiden voyage of Mein Schiff Flow is yet to be announced, Mein Schiff Relax is expected to host its first guests in mid-March 2025 and will be officially launched in Malaga on April 9, 2025.
