Princess Cruise Ship Set to Make a Splash in the U.S. Following Italian Drydock Refurbishment

Caribbean Princess, a long-serving ship with 20 years of experience in the Princess Cruises fleet, recently completed a drydock at Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy. Following its refurbishment, the ship will embark on a 16-night voyage across the Atlantic, departing from Civitavecchia (Rome) on November 10 and arriving at Port Everglades in Florida on November 26.

During the refurbishment, the Caribbean Princess underwent significant maintenance, including updates to upholstery, carpets, and various technical improvements. The vessel’s design allows for upgrades both above and below the waterline, though specifics on the maintenance performed have not been disclosed.

Upon its return to the U.S., the Caribbean Princess will be stationed at Port Canaveral, offering trips ranging from 6 to 14 nights to various destinations in the Eastern and Western Caribbean. In April 2025, it is scheduled for two sailings through the Panama Canal before transitioning to Vancouver for the Alaska cruise season. The ship will return to Florida in September 2025 for a 16-night Panama Canal sailing that will take it from California to Florida, where it will remain active until at least May 2026.

Princess Cruises has made notable changes to some of its Grand-class vessels, like the Grand Princess, which saw the removal of its Skywalkers nightclub to enhance fuel efficiency and stability. The design of the Caribbean Princess, which has been termed controversial by some fans, will largely remain intact following this drydock.
