Ville Vie Odyssey Sets Sail in the Caribbean: A New Adventure Begins!

Villa Vie Residence’s Odyssey has embarked on its journey through the Caribbean after its recent debut in Europe and Africa. The ship arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados, on November 14, 2024, as part of its extensive three-and-a-half-year world cruise.

Following its time in Barbados, the Odyssey will visit several more Caribbean destinations, including St. Maarten and Antigua, before heading through the Panama Canal in December. Over the winter season of 2024-25, this 924-guest vessel will cruise extensively around South America, visiting ports in Ecuador, Peru, and Chile.

One of the highlights of the Odyssey’s itinerary includes scenic cruising in the Antarctic Peninsula. Afterward, it will travel to Argentina and Uruguay before reaching Brazil in late February, where it is planned to visit 21 ports. Notably, the ship will also navigate into the Amazon River, offering guests opportunities to experience the rainforest.

The Odyssey faced several delays due to technical issues before it officially joined the Villa Vie Residences fleet in September 2024. Previously operated by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, the ship was acquired by the startup company in late 2023. Before welcoming passengers, the Odyssey underwent significant refurbishment, which included technical updates and enhancements to public areas and the addition of new spaces tailored for Villa Vie’s offerings.

Unique to Villa Vie, passengers have the opportunity to purchase their own "villas" to live aboard the Odyssey. After its South American voyage, the ship will continue its world cruise, with future stops planned across Central America, the U.S. West Coast, Alaska, and beyond, eventually concluding its journey in West Palm Beach in 2027. The Odyssey’s itinerary is set to include visits to various regions such as the Far East, South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, Africa, and the Mediterranean.
