Ambassador to Lead ORCA’s Marine Wildlife Protection Training Workshop

Ambassador Cruise Line has announced a collaborative program with the marine conservation charity ORCA to train future Ocean Conservationists. This initiative will take place aboard the Ambition during its Marvels of France, Portugal, and Spain cruise in June 2025, aligning with ORCA’s mission to protect marine life through education and research.

The program will host 24 trainees, divided into two groups. The first group will embark from Bristol to Cadiz from June 13 to 22, 2025, while the second group will return from June 22 to 29, 2025. Participants will also complete a four-month online course focused on conservation topics.

During the voyage, the trainees will engage in hands-on training alongside ORCA staff by delivering educational talks, collecting scientific data, and leading wildlife-watching sessions. The aim is to equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to join ORCA’s team of experts dedicated to protecting marine ecosystems.

Bob McGowan, the chief experience officer at Ambassador, expressed pride in expanding the partnership with ORCA, noting that guests will not only appreciate the beauty of the European coastline but also gain insights into the vital work of marine conservation.

Steve Jones, ORCA’s director of fundraising and operations, emphasized that the initiative aims to empower individuals from all backgrounds to actively contribute to the future protection of whales and dolphins. By collaborating with partners like Ambassador Cruise Line, ORCA hopes to inspire greater public engagement in marine conservation efforts.
