8 Exciting Future Cruise Ships Set to Join Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line is set to expand its fleet significantly with eight new cruise ships either under construction or on order, solidifying its position as the fourth largest cruise line in the world. Notably, half of these ships will be the largest ever ordered by NCL, weighing in at 225,000 gross tons.

Prima Plus Class Ships

The new fleet includes four Prima Plus class ships, which will be launched over the next four years:

1. Norwegian Aqua (2025)
   Debuting in April 2025, Norwegian Aqua will feature the Aqua Slidecoaster, a hybrid waterslide and rollercoaster that promises to be the longest and fastest at sea. Additionally, the ship will introduce a clay sauna in its thermal suite and unique entertainment options like “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince” and “The Improv at Sea.”

2. Norwegian Luna (2026)
   Following closely in April 2026, Norwegian Luna will boast many of the same features as its sister ship, including the Aqua Slidecoaster and an outdoor walkway called Ocean Boulevard. New experiences on this ship will also include unique dining options like Thai specialty restaurant Sukhothai and the diverse Indulge Food Hall.

3. Unnamed Ships (2027 & 2028)
   These ships will each weigh 169,000 gross tons. While specific details remain under wraps, NCL has indicated that more information will be shared as their launch dates approach.

Mega Ships

In addition to the Prima Plus class, NCL has announced a new class of mega ships, set to debut in 2030. This class will significantly enhance the cruise line’s capacity, accommodating up to 5,000 guests at double occupancy. The first ship will launch in 2030, followed by subsequent ships every two years until 2036.
