MJM Marine Successfully Completes Major Refurbishment Project on Aroya

MJM Marine has successfully completed a significant refurbishing project for Aroya Cruises, marking a milestone in the marine cruise outfitting industry. This project is touted as the largest refurbishment ever undertaken in the sector and involved the transformation of the former World Dream cruise ship into the newly launched Aroya.

The vessel made its debut earlier this week, departing from its homeport in Jeddah. Gary Annett, CEO of MJM Marine, highlighted the company’s commitment to exceptional cruise outfitting, noting that the collaboration with Aroya Cruises resulted in a vessel that embodies a vision of "Remarkably Arabian" while also establishing a new segment within the cruise industry.

The scope of the refurbishment included extensive upgrades to all cabins, the addition of luxurious suites, elegant dining areas, and advanced entertainment facilities. Notably, the conversion has led to the creation of the largest retail and children’s venues at sea.

MJM Marine played an integral role throughout the process, from initial surveys and design development in Singapore to hands-on work during the dry-dock period in Rotterdam, followed by a relocation to Bremerhaven, Germany, before the ship’s successful maiden voyage.
