Cruise Saudi Unveils Saba Beach: Discover the New Private Island Resort in the Red Sea
Cruise Saudi, part of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has launched Saba Beach, a new private island resort situated on Jabal Al-Sabaya Island in the Red Sea. This island, which is roughly 220 nautical miles west of Jeddah, aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a significant cruise travel destination.
Saba Beach welcomed its initial guests on December 21, 2024, marking the beginning of its operational phase. The island, exclusively open to cruise ship tourists, offers a blend of luxury, cultural experiences, and stunning coastal scenery.
The completed first phase of development will feature a floating park, a full-service restaurant, various retail outlets, VIP beach areas, and luxurious beachfront villas. Additional amenities include a spa, a shisha lounge, and numerous recreational activities such as snorkeling excursions. Visitors will have the opportunity to relax in beachside cabanas or explore the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea.
The design and construction at Saba Beach emphasize environmental harmony and reflect the cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia. Influences from the Aseer and Hijaz regions, traditional patterns like Sadu and AlKhous, and Roshan coastal designs are evident throughout the architecture.
Sustainability is a guiding principle in the island’s development, with careful construction practices aimed at minimizing environmental impacts.
