Carnival Cruise Line to Celebrate 55th Anniversary with Exciting Ship Meetups in 2027
Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) is set to mark its 55th anniversary in 2027 with a series of unique ship meetups at sea. These celebrations will enhance 11 selected itineraries, bringing ships together near CCL’s private Bahamian islands, Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay.
The anniversary cruises will cover various 3- to 8-day itineraries exploring the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Each meetup will feature Lido deck celebrations onboard the participating ships, including themed activities like party games, trivia contests, a dessert buffet, specialty cocktails, and commemorative birthday cakes available at onboard restaurants. Notably, the Carnival Legend will take part in two of the three scheduled events.
The specific meetup dates and participating ships are as follows:
March 9, 2027, at Celebration Key
- Carnival Spirit (8-day sailing from Mobile, March 6)
- Carnival Elation (5-day sailing from Jacksonville, March 6)
- Carnival Legend (6-day sailing from Tampa, March 7)
- Carnival Freedom (5-day sailing from Port Canaveral, March 8)
March 10, 2027, at Half Moon Cay

Since its launch in 1972 with a single ship, CCL has expanded significantly, operating 27 vessels and servicing more homeports in the U.S. than any other cruise line. By spring 2025, the fleet is expected to grow to 29 ships, with plans for further expansion.
As part of the anniversary festivities, CCL will also unveil a new Excel-class ship in 2027, marking the beginning of a new growth phase. The company aims to add four additional vessels by 2033, reinforcing its position as a leader within the cruise industry.
