Adora Magic City Ship Celebrates One Year of Success with 600,000 Passengers!
The Adora Magic City, the first large cruise ship constructed in China, has recently completed its inaugural year of operations, welcoming a remarkable 600,000 passengers across 84 voyages, as reported by Shanghai Customs. Since embarking on its maiden journey on January 1, 2024, the ship has quickly become a significant player in the Chinese travel market, capturing approximately 40% of the international cruise segment within its first year.
On December 29, more than 3,000 passengers boarded the Adora Magic City at Shanghai Wusongkou Terminal for a six-day New Year cruise. The massive vessel measures 324 meters (1,062 feet) in length and features 2,125 staterooms, accommodating a maximum of 5,246 guests. The construction of this cruise ship involved over 1,000 manufacturers from both domestic and international markets.
Looking forward, plans are in motion for China to launch its second domestically built large cruise ship by the end of 2026, with international operations expected to begin from Port Guangzhou in 2027. This development underscores China’s ambition to enhance its presence in the global cruise industry.
