Celebrating One Year of Adventure: ACL’s Coastal Cruise Ship American Glory Marks Its First Anniversary

ACL’s coastal cruise ship, American Glory, recently celebrated its first anniversary with American Cruise Lines (ACL). This event marks a significant milestone for the company’s innovative “Coastal Cats” series. The ship, which is flagged in the USA, was built at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Maryland and commenced its revenue operations on November 28, 2023.

Designed specifically for coastal cruising, the American Glory is a catamaran-type vessel that features five decks and 56 staterooms, accommodating a maximum of 109 guests. Following its completion, it set off on a repositioning cruise from Baltimore, MD to Florida, kicking off its inaugural season in the Gulf of Mexico.

During its debut season, American Glory offered 7-night roundtrip itineraries themed "Florida Gulf Coast and Keys," showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Gulf Coast. Its christening ceremony took place in Key West, FL, on January 21, 2024, officiated by the city’s Mayor, Teri Johnston.

After the Gulf Coast season, the ship moved to New England for summer cruises, featuring breathtaking coastlines and visits to charming towns across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire. In the fall, American Glory hosted cruises along the Hudson River, providing passengers with stunning views of autumn foliage and historic riverfront communities.

The successful launch of American Glory has greatly contributed to ACL’s fleet expansion strategy. It joins the American Eagle, which was the first ship in the "Coastal Cats" series that debuted in 2023. In 2024, ACL continued to grow its fleet by adding two more vessels, American Liberty and American Legend. Looking ahead, ACL plans to introduce five additional ships between 2025 and 2026, including the riverboat American Encore and four more coastal vessels: American Pioneer, American Patriot, American Maverick, and American Ranger. This ongoing expansion reflects ACL’s commitment to creating immersive, destination-focused cruising experiences across the United States.
