Tragic Incident: Passenger Dies on MSC Orchestra During Corporate Charter Cruise in Brazil
A passenger on the MSC Orchestra recently lost their life during a corporate charter cruise in Brazil. The incident occurred on January 9, 2025, as the ship departed from Rio de Janeiro the night before for an event celebrating the 190th anniversary of MAG Seguros, a life insurance and pension fund company.
Despite immediate medical attention from the onboard medical team, the guest, who represented the hosting organization, could not be revived. Following this tragic event, the planned celebrations aboard the ship were canceled, and MSC Orchestra returned to Rio de Janeiro that same afternoon.
MAG Group expressed their deep sadness, extending condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased. They emphasized their commitment to human values and life, resulting in the cancellation of festivities.
"It is with great sadness that the MAG Group confirms the death of one of its employees during a celebratory cruise. The employee suffered a sudden illness and was treated immediately by the medical team present, but unfortunately did not survive. Our commitment to people and respect for life are intrinsic to the values of this company, and for this reason the planned festivities have been canceled. We deeply regret what happened, and we will continue to show our solidarity and offer full support to the family, friends, partners and other employees of our group."
