MSC World America Begins Final Sea Trials Before Delivery
The MSC World America, the most recent ship built by the French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique/STX France, commenced its final sea trials on February 13, 2025. This stage represents the last testing phase prior to the ship’s official handover to MSC Cruises.
The vessel departed from the Loire River estuary for this crucial testing round, under the command of Captain Dino Sagani, who will take charge once the ship is delivered. He was joined by Olivier Macoin, the shipyard’s chief trial captain, overseeing the vessel’s readiness.
Upon successfully completing the sea trials, MSC World America is expected to be delivered to MSC Cruises by the end of March. Following its delivery, the ship will make its way across the Atlantic Ocean to PortMiami, Florida, where it will be inaugurated in a Christening Ceremony at MSC’s newly launched terminal AAA.
