Saint Lucia Cruise Port Celebrates Four Inaugural Calls in January 2025

Saint Lucia Cruise Port has kicked off 2025 with a remarkable start, welcoming four cruise ships making their inaugural calls during January. The vessels included AIDAmar from AIDA Cruises on January 4, Odyssey of the Seas from Royal Caribbean on January 21, Majestic Princess from Princess Cruises on January 27, and Iona from P&O Cruises on January 28.

Members of the Ministry of Tourism, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, and several local port agencies participated in welcoming the ships and held plaque exchange ceremonies to commemorate the occasion.

AIDAmar, under Captain Manuel Pannzek, is on a 43-day itinerary with multiple stops, and during her visit, Captain Pannzek conducted a bridge tour for local officials. Odyssey of the Seas, captained by Marek Slaby, brought 4,379 passengers and 1,633 crew members, and visitors were invited to experience the North Star observation capsule, offering stunning views from 300 feet above sea level.

Majestic Princess, welcoming 3,478 passengers and 1,321 crew members, was received by Captain Castellano Giuseppe, who emphasized the island’s allure for both guests and crew alike. Concluding the month’s inaugural calls, Captain Martin Allen of Iona received a warm welcome. Local entrepreneur Ms. Hidra Charlery, who owns a souvenir shop, was invited to join the welcoming delegation, symbolizing the local businesses positively impacted by the cruise tourism surge.

The arrival of these four ships contributed to an impressive influx of 14,875 passengers and 5,375 crew members at Castries Port in January alone.
