Frank A. Del Rio Exits Oceania Cruises Amid Leadership Changes at NCLH
Oceania Cruises is experiencing a significant leadership change with the recent appointment of Jason Montague as the Chief Luxury Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH). Just a day after he took on this new role, Frank A. Del Rio, the President of Oceania, announced his departure from the company. This decision comes in the wake of Andrea DeMarco’s resignation as the president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) last month.
Del Rio has been an integral part of Oceania for the past 14 years, starting as the chief sales and marketing officer and later becoming vice president of destination services and product development, before ascending to the role of president two years ago. Notably, he is the son of Frank Del Rio, Oceania’s founder.
In his comments about Del Rio’s departure, Montague recognized the lasting impact that both Frank A. Del Rio and his father have had on the Oceania brand. This change marks a historic moment as it is the first time since Oceania’s inception in 2003 that a member of the Del Rio family will no longer be directly involved in the company’s operations.
