Frank A. Del Rio Departs Oceania Cruises Amid NCLH Leadership Restructuring

Oceania Cruises is experiencing a significant leadership transition following Jason Montague’s recent appointment as Chief Luxury Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH). Just one day after assuming his new role, Montague saw the departure of Frank A. Del Rio, who has served as Oceania’s President, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s history.

Del Rio’s decision to leave comes on the heels of Andrea DeMarco’s resignation last month from her position as president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC). Del Rio has been an integral part of Oceania for 14 years, holding various leadership roles, including chief sales and marketing officer and vice president of destination services, before becoming president two years ago. Notably, he is also the son of Oceania’s founder, Frank Del Rio.

Montague expressed his appreciation for Del Rio’s contributions to the brand, highlighting the important legacy of both Del Rio and his father within Oceania. With Del Rio’s departure, this marks the first time since the company’s founding in 2003 that there will be no Del Rio family member involved in its operations.
