Royal Caribbean Simplifies Earning Free Cruises with New Ship Offerings
Every Royal Caribbean cruise ship features an onboard casino named Casino Royale, where guests can enjoy various table games and slot machines. Beyond the thrill of winning money, many cruisers are drawn to the casinos to earn free cruise opportunities for future sailings.
Cruisers can benefit from three main ways to earn complimentary cruises through their casino play:
- Annual Free Cruises: Achieving Prime status or higher in Casino Royale’s loyalty program grants you a certificate for a free cruise annually. This can be used on most sailings, although there are exceptions.
- Instant Certificates: These are special offers based on individual cruise play, allowing for complimentary sailings immediately after a cruise.
- Targeted Offers: Players often receive tailored offers through mail, email, and at clubroyaleoffers.com.
However, obtaining a free cruise aboard the flagship Icon of the Seas has been a challenge. It wasn’t included in the 2024 annual free cruise benefits and rarely appears on targeted offers. Typically, Icon-class sailings have been excluded from instant certificate offers.
Recently, some players noticed a change. In January, several received targeted offers for complimentary sailings on both Icon of the Seas and its sister ship Star of the Seas, available from September through December 2025.
This shift seems to have extended to the instant certificate program as well, as recent lists revealed the inclusion of Icon-class sailings due to increased availability.
While higher points are generally required to gain completely complimentary cruises for two, players reaching the 6,500-point level can access a broader selection of Icon and Star sailings from June 2025 through March 2026. Interestingly, there’s also availability for partial comps; at the 2,000-point level, guests can obtain a complimentary cruise for one guest in a two-person cabin on the Icon of the Seas, making it a buy-one-get-one-free offer for some sailings.
A big question remains: Will Icon-class sailings be eligible for annual cruise certificates? This uncertainty continues to linger, especially since Icon was excluded last year, but it seems Royal Caribbean may be re-evaluating its policies in 2025 as demand for these ships increases.
