Revitalized and Ready to Sail: Carnival Ship Unveils Exciting Updates After Extended Dry Dock

After 24 years of service, the beloved Carnival Spirit has emerged from a month-long dry dock in Cadiz, Spain, sporting a fresh look and new features designed to enhance guest experience. This refurbishment followed her final voyage from Mobile, Alabama, and marked significant upgrades across many areas of the ship.

A standout addition is the new Heroes Tribute Bar, a venue that honors military members and is now featured on more than half of Carnival’s fleet. This space includes memorabilia from various branches of the armed forces and aims to create an inviting atmosphere for all guests. Lisa McCabe, Carnival’s vice president of refurbishments, emphasized that this addition exemplifies their dedication to enhancing the fleet based on guest preferences.

Beyond the Heroes Tribute Bar, several key areas of the ship have been revamped. A new dedicated Chef’s Table space has been created, meeting the high demand for this exclusive dining experience. The ship’s fitness and spa facilities along with the nightclub, golf course, and basketball court have all seen refreshing updates too.

In terms of accommodation, guest staterooms have seen significant improvements, including new bedside and sofa bed lighting features that come with USB charging ports, which have become a hot request among travelers.

With these updates in place, Carnival Spirit is set for an exciting series of voyages. She welcomed her first guests back on March 16, 2025, in Barcelona, followed by a westbound transatlantic cruise. This voyage will take her through charming ports in Spain, the Azores, and Bermuda, finally arriving in Miami on March 30.

Following her Miami arrival, Carnival Spirit will embark on a unique 15-night journey from Miami to Seattle, including a passage through the Panama Canal and stops in Colombia, Costa Rica, and Mexico. During the summer, the rejuvenated ship will operate primarily 7-night Inside Passage cruises to Alaska, visiting popular destinations like Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, while providing breathtaking scenic views.

As winter approaches, Carnival Spirit will offer 6- and 8-night cruises to the Bahamas, featuring visits to the upcoming private destination, Celebration Key. Capable of accommodating 2,124 guests, along with nearly 1,000 international crew members, the ship is ready to impress with her numerous updates and exciting itineraries.
