Celebrity Cruises Excludes Labadee from Itineraries Due to Safety Concerns

Celebrity Cruises has made significant changes to several itineraries, omitting Labadee, Haiti, from the scheduled ports of call for its ships, particularly the Celebrity Apex and select voyages of the Celebrity Beyond. This decision was communicated to guests, emphasizing a commitment to enhancing the overall cruising experience.

The changes primarily impact the Celebrity Apex’s 7-night "Key West, Bahamas & Labadee" roundtrips originating from Port Canaveral, Florida. Previously, these trips included stops at Key West, Bimini, Puerto Plata, and Labadee. After the alteration, most itineraries will instead visit Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

In addition, some itineraries planned for 2026 will now feature calls at George Town in Grand Cayman and Cozumel in Mexico.

While Celebrity Cruises has refrained from detailing the reasons behind Labadee’s exclusion, it coincides with a current Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory issued by the U.S. State Department regarding Haiti, citing ongoing safety and security issues. It is worth noting that Labadee, which is a private resort owned by Royal Caribbean International, remains unaffected by the unrest due to its geographical isolation and strict security measures. Royal Caribbean continues to include Labadee in its itineraries without any current plans to change.

Guests who are impacted by the revised itineraries have been notified, and Celebrity Cruises will process automatic refunds for any pre-purchased shore excursions related to Labadee.
