A $100 Million Glow-Up: Live Updates from the Shipyard of Allure of the Seas!

Allure of the Seas, one of the largest cruise ships globally, is undergoing a $100 million dry-dock refurbishment to celebrate its upcoming 15th anniversary. Originally launched in 2010 as part of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class, the ship has long been known for its numerous amenities, including over two dozen bars and restaurants, surf simulators, and an AquaTheater.

During this refurbishment, Allure will introduce popular features from other Royal Caribbean ships, such as the Playmakers sports bar, the Pesky Parrot, and The Lime & Coconut bars. New dining options will include The Mason Jar Southern comfort food restaurant and waterslides called The Perfect Storm. An exciting addition is the 10-deck Ultimate Abyss dry slide.

The vessel will also gain 30 new cabins, including two Panoramic Suites that provide stunning 200-degree ocean views, increasing its double-occupancy passenger capacity to 5,718.

Once the refurbishment is complete in April, Allure of the Seas is set to work a season of European voyages in the summer of 2025, with itineraries starting from Barcelona, before relocating to Fort Lauderdale in November for Caribbean cruises.

The ship is currently in the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, where updates and enhancements are taking place. These improvements also include a refreshed Adventure Ocean kids’ club, revamped teen hangout, and enhancements to the adults-only Solarium. Additionally, the ship’s main pool area will see expanded deck space and new cabanas for leisure.

Passengers can look forward to these updates, making the Allure of the Seas even more enticing as it prepares for a new season of voyages.
