Port Southampton Sees Promising Cruise Activity in Early 2025

Following a record-breaking year in 2024, the Port of Southampton in England has continued to demonstrate strong cruise activity in the first quarter of 2025. By March, the port welcomed 18 cruise ships, with plans underway for an impressive five-ship day projected for April.

A highlight of this quarter was the inaugural visit of the Norwegian Aqua, which chose Southampton for its maiden voyage. During this visit, the ship was equipped for shore power, allowing it to operate with zero emissions while docked. This Prima Plus-class ship can accommodate over 3,000 passengers and boasts attractions like the Aqua Slidecoaster—a unique combination of a roller coaster and waterslide—alongside the Glow Court sports complex and a variety of dining options.
