MSC Cruises Unveils Its New State-of-the-Art Terminal at PortMiami

On April 5, 2025, MSC Cruises inaugurated its new cruise terminal at PortMiami, Florida. The facility, designed by Arquitectonica and built by Fincantieri Infrastructure, spans 492,678 square feet and has the capacity to process up to 36,000 passengers daily while accommodating three ships at once.

The terminal features a fully biometric embarkation process, enhancing check-in, security, and boarding through digital identity verification. Passengers can complete their check-in online, reserve parking in a six-level garage that holds over 2,400 spaces, and utilize biometric face pods and e-gates for faster processing.

Inside, the terminal showcases seven curated artworks as part of the Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places program. A highlight is a 10,816-square-foot digital projection on the exterior, which displays real-time oceanic data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

This state-of-the-art facility will serve MSC Cruises’ vessels as well as those of Explora Journeys, including the MSC World America, which is set for its naming ceremony at the terminal on April 9, before embarking on its inaugural Caribbean season.
