NCL Transfers Sky and Sun: Cordelia Cruises India Welcomes New Ships!

NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line has officially announced the transfer of two of its SUN-class vessels, Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun, to Cordelia Cruises in India. This move is designed to enhance Cordelia’s operational capabilities significantly within the region.

According to the agreement, the Norwegian Sky will be rebranded as Cordelia Sky upon its transfer in 2026, while the Norwegian Sun will follow in 2027 as Cordelia Sun. Both ships can accommodate approximately 2,000 passengers and 900 crew members.

Jurgen Bailom, President and CEO of Waterways Leisure Pvt Ltd, which operates Cordelia Cruises, shared that adding these vessels builds on the success of Cordelia Empress, which has already transformed the cruise experience for Indian travelers. He expressed optimism that the addition of Sky and Sun signals a new chapter for cruise vacations in India, characterized by larger ships and more immersive experiences.

Currently, Cordelia operates the Cordelia Empress, acquired from Royal Caribbean. The transfer of the NCL ships will effectively double Cordelia’s passenger capacity and open opportunities for extended regional itineraries across Asia and the Middle East.
