Norwegian Aqua Makes Its Grand Debut in NYC: A Sneak Peek Before 2025 Service Launch

On April 7, 2025, Norwegian Cruise Line’s latest ship, Norwegian Aqua, made its debut in New York City for a two-day preview event. This vessel is set to begin sailing to Bermuda in August 2025.

As the flagship of NCL’s Prima Plus class, Norwegian Aqua presents enhancements in design and amenities compared to its siblings, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. The ship is approximately 10% larger and introduces new features catering to both leisure and active travelers.

Among the attractions onboard is the Aqua Slidecoaster, a first-of-its-kind hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide spanning three decks. This dual-slide experience features a high-speed propulsion launch system. Additionally, the ship reveals Glow Court, a multipurpose sports venue with an interactive LED floor that transforms into a nightlife venue after dark.

Public spaces have been expanded to include Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only lounge with cabanas and oceanfront lounging areas. For families and active guests, there are spaces like The Stadium, The Drop— a ten-deck dry slide—and the revamped Aqua Game Zone offering various arcade games.

Dining and entertainment options are plentiful aboard Norwegian Aqua, which boasts 17 dining venues and 18 bars and lounges, including an updated Metropolitan Bar with live piano performances. Entertainment highlights include "Revolution: A Celebration of Prince," and "Elements: The World Expanded," featuring visual and acrobatic performances. Guests can also participate in game shows like "The Price is Right LIVE."

Following its christening ceremony in Miami on April 13, 2025, with actor Eric Stonestreet as the godfather, Norwegian Aqua will offer week-long Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral, Florida, through July 2025. The ship will then return to New York City for its Bermuda service from August to October 2025, followed by Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami starting in October 2025 until April 2026. These journeys will include stops at NCL’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, where a new multi-ship pier is anticipated to be completed by late 2025.

Travelers on Norwegian Aqua will enjoy the newly launched More At Sea program, which offers bundled amenities including beverage packages, specialty dining credits, internet access, shore excursion credits, and family promotional offers on select voyages.
