HAL-Holland America Line Enhances 2026 European Cruise Season with Exciting Extensions

HAL-Holland America Line has announced a six-week extension to its European cruise schedule for 2026 and added four new itineraries now available for booking. This extension enhances access to both northern and southern Europe, focusing on the Norwegian coast and the western Mediterranean.

The new voyages will be hosted on the ms Nieuw Statendam, departing roundtrip or one-way from Rotterdam, HAL’s traditional homeport and key hub for European cruises.

Among the highlights of the extension is an additional sailing of the 14-day Arctic Circle and Northern Lights voyage in collaboration with The HISTORY Channel, departing on November 7, 2026. This journey will take guests north from Rotterdam, stopping at places such as Ålesund and Trondheim, before crossing the Arctic Circle to Tromsø, a prime spot for Arctic explorations. The trip includes an overnight stay in Alta, known as the "Northern Lights capital," as well as a visit to Leknes in the Lofoten Islands. The return route features stops at Andalsnes, Bergen, and Lerwick (Shetland Islands), concluding back in Rotterdam. This sailing is timed to coincide with a period expected to showcase enhanced auroral activity, and onboard, passengers can opt for wake-up alerts for the Northern Lights.

Another new itinerary, the 14-day Mediterranean and Atlantic Treasures: Lisbon Overnight voyage, will also set sail on November 21, 2026. This trip will be roundtrip from Rotterdam, with ports of call including Cadiz (Seville), Malaga (Granada), Alicante, Cartagena (Murcia), Gibraltar, and Leixões. Passengers will enjoy an overnight stay in Lisbon, affording them the chance to visit UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the Belem Tower and Jeronimos Monastery. This marks HAL’s first roundtrip Mediterranean voyage from Rotterdam in nearly ten years.

Additional newly available itineraries include a 7-day Norway with Nordfjord cruise and a 15-day Cultural Crossing with England and Normandy.

For a limited time, guests booking these extended cruises through the Have It All premium fare will receive standard inclusions—such as shore excursions, specialty dining, Signature Beverage Package, and Surf Wi-Fi—along with complimentary crew appreciation, an upgrade to the Elite Beverage Package, and Premium Wi-Fi. Mariner Society loyalty program members can also take advantage of an Exclusive Mariner Society Early Booking Bonus, which offers up to US$400 onboard credit per stateroom for bookings made by July 9, 2025.
