Seabourn Encore Makes Historic Maiden Call to the Continental USA
On April 9, 2025, the Seabourn Encore, a vessel operated by the luxury cruise line Seabourn, made its inaugural visit to the continental United States, docking in Long Beach, California. This event marked a significant operational milestone for the cruise line and provided a rare opportunity for local guests and travel advisors to explore the ship.
The visit to Long Beach served as a crucial transition point as the Seabourn Encore prepared for its repositioning towards European waters. The ship’s current itinerary includes a transit through the Panama Canal, followed by a transatlantic journey and summer voyages across the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas.
Mark Tamis, President of Seabourn, highlighted the importance of this milestone in the ship’s sailing program. He mentioned that the upcoming voyage from Long Beach would take guests through various regions, including the Panama Canal and ports in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Colombia, before heading to Europe.
Following its Mediterranean season, the Seabourn Encore is set for an extensive westbound voyage starting in November 2025. This journey will cover over 18,500 nautical miles, crossing two oceans and five continents, as it navigates from the Atlantic Ocean to the Southern Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, and over to the Pacific Ocean, eventually reaching Japanese waters.
