Juneau Assembly and Cruise Industry Leaders Unite to Strategize for Upcoming Tourism Season
The Juneau Assembly and cruise industry representatives are set to convene for a joint meeting on Thursday to discuss the upcoming cruise ship tourism season. This hour-long gathering will take place at City Hall in the Assembly Chambers, starting at noon. It will feature leaders from the Cruise Lines International Association Alaska alongside other stakeholders in the tourism sector.
During the meeting, both Assembly members and industry leaders will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session about the season, which kicked off the previous week. The public is welcome to attend the session either in person or online, although there will be no provision for public testimony. According to Alix Pierce, Juneau’s visitor industry director, this meeting provides an important chance for residents to hear directly from industry leaders.
Residents interested in influencing the discussion can submit specific topics for consideration to the Assembly ahead of the meeting. It is important to note that this meeting is purely informational, and no votes will be taken.
Recently, industry leaders also met with Ketchikan’s City Council to hold a similar public dialogue.
