HAL-Holland America Line Unveils Exciting 2027 Grand Voyages Itinerary
HAL-Holland America Line has unveiled its itineraries for the 2027 Grand Voyages, presenting two exceptional cruising options: a 129-day global circumnavigation on the Grand World Voyage and a 70-day journey focusing on South America and Antarctica. This announcement was made by Beth Bodensteiner, the president of Holland America Line, to guests aboard the 2025 Grand World Voyage.
The Grand World Voyage will take place on the ms Volendam, while the Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage will be hosted aboard the ms Zaandam. Both ships, known for their mid-size design, can access ports that larger vessels cannot, allowing for a more personalized and secluded cruising experience.
The Grand World Voyage, scheduled to depart from Fort Lauderdale on January 5, 2027, will feature 53 ports in 28 countries and include overnight stays in seven ports. Some of the exclusive stops include Georgetown, Ascension Island, and Jamestown, St. Helena—historically significant islands in the South Atlantic known for their connection to Napoleon Bonaparte’s exile.
Travelers can expect breathtaking highlights, including scenic routes along South America’s western coast, a crossing of the South Pacific to Australia, and explorations in Southeast Asia. The voyage will traverse Cape Agulhas, travel up Africa’s west coast, and conclude with an Atlantic crossing, allowing access to 81 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as the Taj Mahal and the Great Barrier Reef.
On the other hand, the 2027 Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage will set sail roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale starting January 3, 2027. This 70-day adventure will visit 31 ports across 13 countries and includes a four-day Holland America Antarctica Experience. The itinerary encompasses the Panama Canal, ports along South America’s west coast, Chilean fjords, and the remarkable Drake Passage, while exploring the Falklands and South America’s eastern coastline.
Exclusive ports such as Robinson Crusoe Island off Chile will be featured, along with stunning cruising opportunities through the Beagle Channel. Travelers will also gain access to 28 UNESCO sites, including Machu Picchu and the Galápagos Islands, with overnight visits in major cities like Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.
These meticulously designed Grand Voyages aim to provide extensive cultural immersion and memorable historical experiences, aligning with Holland America Line’s long-standing tradition of deep global exploration cruises.
