MS Europa 2 Launches Nanaimo’s 2025 Cruise Season with a Grand Arrival

Port Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, Canada, kicked off its 2025 cruise season with the arrival of the MS Europa 2, an ultra-luxury ship managed by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. Docking at Nanaimo’s cruise terminal on April 21, the ship is known for its 251 suite-class accommodations, each featuring a step-out balcony, and can host approximately 500 guests.

This visit marks the first of four scheduled calls by cruise ships to Nanaimo this year, aligning with the city’s intent to establish itself as a boutique port in the Pacific Northwest. Currently, the MS Europa 2 is on an 18-day round-trip sail between Los Angeles and Vancouver, with stops at various ports including Victoria, Seattle, Astoria, Eureka, Santa Barbara, and San Diego.

On April 21, the vessel arrived from Victoria at 8:00 a.m. and departed for Vancouver at 6:00 p.m., giving passengers ample time to explore local attractions such as the Old City Quarter, the Bastion, and the scenic waterfront promenade.
