MSC Cruises Announces Development of Little Cay: A New Artificial Island Near Ocean Cay in the Bahamas

MSC Cruises is expanding its private island experiences by planning a new exclusive destination in the Bahamas, named "Little Cay." This artificial island will be located just north of the existing Ocean Cay, constructed on a natural sandbank created during prior dredging operations for Ocean Cay’s development.

Little Cay is expected to be about one-third the size of Ocean Cay and will aim to offer a luxurious experience closely tied to nature, with features such as serene beaches and stunning ocean views. While specific amenities have yet to be revealed, MSC has assured that the island will feature upscale relaxation areas designed to blend with the environment. Guests are likely to access Little Cay via high-end tenders from the main island, with plans for a dedicated pier still under consideration.

Speculation suggests that the island could serve as a private retreat for MSC Yacht Club guests or those traveling on MSC’s luxury brand, Explora Journeys. Additionally, MSC is contemplating expanding the capacity at Ocean Cay, potentially adding a second berth to accommodate larger cruise ships.

A completion timeline for Little Cay has not been announced, but MSC has committed to sharing further updates as the project develops.
