Passenger Arrests Follow Incident Aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas

During a recent four-night cruise to the Bahamas on Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas, an unfortunate altercation unfolded onboard. The event, which took place on April 17, 2025, involved passengers confronting a group of youths who were jumping in an elevator, causing it to sway dangerously.

As the situation escalated, a male passenger and his female partner aimed to leave the elevator on the eighth floor. However, they were blocked by the group of youths. In the ensuing confrontation, the male passenger was pushed past the group and was violently assaulted outside the elevator, resulting in him losing consciousness.

When the ship docked back at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 18, local authorities arrested Michael White, 18, and another individual linked to the incident. White is currently facing charges of aggravated battery that resulted in bodily harm. Following his arrest, he was booked at the Broward County Jail and later released on a $5,000 bond.
