Norwegian Cruise Line Enhances Two Ships Ahead of Summer Season Launch

Norwegian Cruise Line is set to enhance two of its ships ahead of the 2025 summer season, with one ship finishing renovations and another preparing to enter dry dock.

The Norwegian Epic, famous for introducing studio cabins designed for solo travelers since its launch in 2010, is currently in a dry dock that began three weeks ago. It is scheduled to resume operations in Europe on May 8, 2025. The renovations will include the addition of eight new staterooms, both ocean view and balcony options, along with upgrades to public spaces. Children will benefit from an improved Aqua Park, which will replace the existing Splashgolf area.

On the other hand, the Pride of America, the only vessel to offer inter-island Hawaii voyages year-round from Honolulu, is slated to enter dry dock on May 3, 2025, reopening on May 31, 2025. After its renovations, the ship will feature new club balcony suites and additional inside cabins, alongside a Starbucks in the Capitol Atrium. A new pickleball court will also be added, enhancing the ship’s outdoor sports area.

David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, emphasized the importance of guest feedback in shaping these improvements. He stated, “Delivering the best vacation experience for our guests, where they have the freedom and flexibility to do more of what they love is and will always continue to be our goal."

When the Norwegian Epic resumes service, it will commence with a 6-night "Mediterranean: Italy, France & Spain" voyage, calling at popular destinations. Following this, the ship will offer various 9- to 11-night cruises across Italy, Greece, and France.

Meanwhile, Pride of America will return to its regular inter-island routes on June 7, 2025, traversing between major Hawaiian islands without the need for international stops, a unique advantage due to its U.S. flag. These upgrades are part of Norwegian Cruise Line’s commitment to providing enhanced experiences for their passengers.
