Carnival Cruise Line Launches Innovative Digital Shore Excursion Platform

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line has launched a new digital platform aimed at enhancing the shore excursion experience for passengers. The system eliminates the need for physical tickets by allowing guests to check in for excursions using their Sail & Sign cards. This digital platform is integrated with Carnival’s HUB App, enabling users to receive digital confirmations and real-time updates about meeting times and locations.

Currently, the platform is undergoing pilot testing with select tour operators in The Bahamas and the Caribbean, following a successful implementation in Australia earlier in the year. The complete rollout is planned for Carnival’s new exclusive destination, Celebration Key on Grand Bahama, set to open on July 19, 2025. After this, CCL will extend the system to various ports in the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Mexico throughout the rest of the year. Further expansions into Alaska and European itineraries are anticipated by summer 2026.

The digital platform also allows tour operators to make real-time sales and register guests immediately, making last-minute bookings easier. CCL is collaborating closely with partners to train operators to effectively use the new tools, with the goal of improving the shore excursion experience for both guests and tour providers.
