Carnival Cruise Line Launches Innovative Digital Shore Excursion Platform
CCL-Carnival Cruise Line is launching a digital shore excursion platform that aims to enhance the experience for its guests by replacing physical tickets with a more efficient check-in system. Passengers will be able to use their Sail & Sign cards for excursions, which links with the Carnival HUB App to provide digital confirmations and timely notifications regarding meeting locations and times.
The platform is currently being piloted with certain tour operators in The Bahamas and the Caribbean, having successfully integrated in Australia earlier in the year. Carnival plans to roll out the platform at its upcoming exclusive destination, Celebration Key on Grand Bahama, on July 19, 2025.
Following this launch, CCL’s strategy includes expanding the initiative to more ports throughout the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Mexico during the remainder of 2025, with additional plans to reach Alaska and European itineraries by summer 2026.
The digital system also allows tour operators to process sales and register guests on-site, making last-minute bookings possible. CCL is actively collaborating with partners to ensure that operators are well-trained in using the new tools, thereby aiming to improve the overall shore excursion experience for passengers and tour providers alike.
