Princess Cruises Revamps Beverage Package Policies Across the Fleet

Princess Cruises has announced the introduction of stricter operational guidelines regarding its onboard beverage packages, which will take effect beginning May 9, 2025. This initiative is aimed at reinforcing the terms of the Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages, ensuring compliance across the fleet.

According to the revised policies, guests will now be limited to ordering one drink per transaction, regardless of their beverage package status. The sharing of beverage packages is strictly forbidden; guests cannot use their package benefits to purchase drinks for others. Should a guest wish to buy extra drinks for fellow passengers, those drinks must be paid for at full price. Additionally, double pours of spirits will no longer be permitted, although double pours of wine by the glass remain allowed.

Princess Cruises has asked its Food and Beverage leadership to ensure that all crew members are well-trained and informed of these new regulations prior to their rollout. The primary goal is to maintain consistent guest service while safeguarding the value and integrity of the beverage packages.

The Plus and Premier beverage packages have been popular among guests for their inclusive nature, offering drinks along with various other amenities. However, the cruise line has encountered issues with some guests attempting to bypass package limits or inappropriately share benefits. By enforcing these updated rules, Princess Cruises aims to mitigate misuse while still providing an enjoyable experience for all its guests.

Existing reservations for voyages starting on or after May 9 will still have access to all items covered by their beverage packages, as long as the new guidelines are followed.
