Set Sail for Celestial Wonders: Enchanted Princess to Host Mediterranean Solar Eclipse Cruise 2026
Princess Cruises has unveiled plans for a new voyage in its 2026 Total Solar Eclipse series, featuring a 14-day Mediterranean and Adriatic cruise aboard the Enchanted Princess. This remarkable journey departs from Civitavecchia, Rome, on August 4, 2026, allowing passengers the unique opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, while visiting various significant ports in Southern Europe.
The total solar eclipse will be visible from a prime viewing spot off the coast of Eastern Spain, lasting for 2 minutes and 18 seconds. Guests can gather on the ship’s top decks, equipped with special eclipse viewing glasses, to enjoy this celestial event. The cruise will also feature a range of onboard activities such as astronomy lectures, themed refreshments, stargazing sessions, and trivia about the solar system. Passengers are encouraged to bring personal telescopes and wear attire themed to the eclipse.
The itinerary includes stops at notable destinations like Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Messina, Palermo, Gibraltar, Alicante, and Barcelona. This cruise complements two other eclipse-focused voyages on different ships: the Sky Princess, departing from Southampton, UK, on August 8, 2026, and the Sun Princess, offering various itineraries from Barcelona and Athens.
Bookings for the Enchanted Princess cruise are now open through travel advisors, the Princess Cruises website, or by contacting the cruise line directly.
