Margaritaville at Sea Expands Its Fleet: Welcoming Costa Fortuna!
Margaritaville at Sea has announced its plans to enhance its fleet through the acquisition of the Costa Fortuna cruise ship from Costa Cruises. The integration of this vessel is expected to take place between late 2026 and early 2027, reflecting the company’s strategy to broaden its offerings to meet the demands of a growing customer base.
The Costa Fortuna, built in 2003, boasts a gross tonnage of 102,669 and a passenger capacity of up to 3,470. This marks a significant increase from the current capacity of Margaritaville at Sea’s existing ships, such as the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, which accommodates around 1,308 guests.
Once acquired, the Costa Fortuna will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment to ensure it aligns with Margaritaville at Sea’s branding and experience expectations. Upgrades are anticipated for staterooms, dining venues, and entertainment areas, taking cues from the recent transformation of the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, previously known as Costa Atlantica.
While specific details on the new name and homeport for the ship are yet to be revealed, Margaritaville at Sea has indicated plans to introduce innovative concepts and venues aboard the vessel to enhance the overall guest experience.
Until the transition is finalized, Costa Cruises will continue to manage the Costa Fortuna’s operations. More details regarding the ship’s itineraries and deployment will be shared as the integration process moves forward.
