Emergency Medevac Operation Conducted Off Aceh Coast for Two Mein Schiff 6 Passengers

An emergency medical evacuation took place off the Aceh Coast over the weekend for two passengers aboard the cruise ship Mein Schiff 6. The vessel, which operates from Port Klang, Malaysia, signaled for help after two individuals fell seriously ill while at sea.

The passengers in need of assistance included 86-year-old Hebert Ronald from Germany, who was experiencing severe complications linked to hypertension and diabetes, and 43-year-old Russian citizen Yulia, who is 15 weeks pregnant and had a concerning nosebleed.

Upon receiving the distress call, the National Search and Rescue Agency of Indonesia, known as Basarnas, dispatched a rescue vessel to meet Mein Schiff 6 approximately seven nautical miles away from a local port.

Both passengers were safely evacuated from the cruise ship and transported to local medical facilities for further treatment. While there have been no updates on their conditions since the evacuation, officials praised the effective coordination between maritime rescue teams and the cruise ship, which facilitated a swift and safe medical response.
