CCL-Carnival Cruise Line Gears Up for a Record-Breaking Summer Season

CCL-Carnival Cruise Line is gearing up for an extensive summer season in 2025 with its largest deployment yet, featuring 29 vessels. With the debut of Celebration Key in Grand Bahama, the cruise line anticipates transporting nearly 2 million guests between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Over the summer, these ships will make more than 1,200 port calls across nearly 100 different destinations.

Celebration Key, an exclusive private destination created by Carnival, is set to welcome guests starting July 19. During its inaugural season, it will host over 80 visits from 15 vessels departing from eight homeports across the U.S. This development aims to enhance the experience for visitors to The Bahamas and indicates a larger strategy to expand Carnival’s destination offerings.

The cruise line continues its efforts to enhance accessibility with 13 U.S. homeports, allowing the majority of the U.S. population to embark on cruises within a five-hour drive. This accessibility, along with the all-inclusive nature of cruising, is touted as a more economical choice compared to traditional land vacations.

Carnival’s economic impact in the U.S. for the summer season is projected to be over $635 million, derived from pre- and post-cruise spending in homeport cities. Onboard consumption is also expected to soar, with millions of meals, beverages, and desserts to be served across the fleet.

In addition to its Caribbean itineraries, Carnival will also have a presence in Alaska and Europe during the season. Three ships will operate in Alaska from Seattle and San Francisco, with an expected 100,000 guests visiting beautiful, wildlife-rich areas. In Europe, Carnival Miracle will visit ports in 17 different countries, commemorating 20 years of operations from Civitavecchia (Rome). Moreover, three ships will operate year-round from Sydney and Brisbane, supporting the growth of cruise tourism in Australia.
