Azamara’s Historic 3-Ship Convergence in Barcelona: A Strategic Milestone for the Cruise Line
On May 26, 2025, Azamara Cruises celebrated a major milestone with the simultaneous arrival of three of its ships – Azamara Journey, Azamara Quest, and Azamara Onward – at the Port of Barcelona in Spain. This historic event marked the first time these sister vessels convened at the same port, representing a significant moment in the company’s operational history.
To honor this unique convergence, Azamara arranged a series of events highlighting its dedication to destination immersion and stakeholder involvement. Travel agents from the UK, DACH, and EMEA regions were invited to a signature AzAmazing Evening at Finca Mas Solers, a restored 19th-century mansion near Barcelona. The evening included authentic local hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and live performances of Spanish guitar, providing guests with an immersive experience of the local culture.
Additionally, an exclusive panel discussion was hosted aboard the Azamara Journey, featuring insights from CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler and other senior executives. They shared updates on Azamara’s strategic plans, including the much-anticipated return to Alaska in 2026.
David Duff, Managing Director for the UK and EMEA, remarked on the importance of the event, noting the attendance of 50 travel agents as a testament to Azamara’s ongoing commitment to supporting the travel trade community.
Following this event in Barcelona, Azamara’s fleet is preparing to embark on its summer season across Europe. The Azamara Quest will begin its Canada and New England program in July with a journey to Iceland, while the other vessels will cover various itineraries throughout the British Isles, Northern Europe, and the Mediterranean.
Coinciding with these developments, Azamara is offering a limited-time ‘May Flash Sale’ that features a 20% discount on select sailings booked by May 30, 2025. This promotion aims to enhance accessibility to its destination-focused travel experiences, applicable to voyages scheduled between June 19, 2025, and May 11, 2026.
