Celebrity Cruises Launches $250M Modernization Project for Solstice-Class Fleet
Celebrity Cruises has announced a major refurbishment initiative for its Solstice-class ships, investing over $250 million in the project. Scheduled to start in March 2026 with the overhaul of the Celebrity Solstice, the upgrades will also extend to the other ships in the class: Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Silhouette, and Celebrity Reflection.
The modernization plan is tailored to elevate guest experiences by introducing new venues and refreshing existing ones. Highlights include the addition of the Boulevard Lounge, a cabaret-style entertainment venue, and the Boulevard Bar. Also featured will be the Celebrity Barcade, a sports bar equipped with games such as billiards and darts.
Dining experiences will be revamped with new culinary offerings, including Trattoria Rossa, specializing in Italian cuisine, and the Fine Cut Steakhouse, previously seen on Edge-class vessels. Significant enhancements will occur in outdoor spaces, particularly the creation of Sunset Park— a half-acre area designed for cocktails, lawn games, open-air concerts, and private cabanas, along with an updated Sunset Bar.
Accommodations will experience upgrades across all categories. AquaClass staterooms will feature spa-inspired amenities, including massaging shower heads, aromatherapy diffusers, yoga mats, and a new pillow menu. Additionally, four new stateroom categories will be introduced: Panoramic Infinite Veranda Suite, Deluxe Panoramic Oceanview Suite, Panoramic Ocean View Suite, and Deluxe Panoramic Ocean View.
The Retreat experience will be enhanced with upgraded suites, a redesigned sundeck featuring outdoor seating and a hot tub, and an updated Retreat Lounge. Other public areas set for refurbishment include Café Al Bacio, Cellar Masters, World Class Bar, Martini Bar, Pool Bar, Passport Bar, Blu (exclusive to AquaClass guests), Luminae (exclusive to The Retreat), the Fitness Center, and Camp at Sea.
The revitalized Celebrity Solstice is set to debut in March 2026, with itineraries focused on Asia and Australia, followed by summer cruises in Alaska. A highlight of the season will be the 110-night Grand Voyage from Canada to Southeast Asia commencing in September 2026.
