Ovation of the Seas Begins Inaugural Homeporting in Los Angeles with RCI-Royal Caribbean

On May 31st, Royal Caribbean International (RCI) will see its ship, Ovation of the Seas, dock at the Port of Los Angeles’ World Cruise Center, marking the inaugural deployment of a Quantum Class vessel from this Californian port. This new deployment not only broadens the company’s presence on the West Coast of the USA but also opens up fresh cruising alternatives for travelers eager to explore the Mexican Riviera.

Starting June 5th, Ovation OTS will embark on a series of journeys to Baja California, offering a variety of itineraries including 3-night cruises to Ensenada, 5-night trips with overnight stops in Cabo San Lucas, and 6-night cruises that encompass both destinations. Each sailing is crafted to deliver unique experiences along Mexico’s Pacific coast.

The ship is equipped with cutting-edge amenities, such as the North Star observation capsule that provides breathtaking panoramic views and the Bionic Bar, where guests can enjoy drinks served by robotic bartenders. To celebrate this exciting new deployment, Royal Caribbean has partnered with media giant Shondaland to honor its 20th anniversary. Selected sweepstakes winners will enjoy the exclusive "Shondaland at Sea" experience, featuring a private screening, a Q&A session with Shonda Rhimes and producer Betsy Beers, along with trivia inspired by "Grey’s Anatomy."

During the summer, Ovation OTS will operate alongside Navigator of the Seas, which currently runs 3-, 4-, and 7-night itineraries from Los Angeles through October 2026. This addition boosts Royal Caribbean’s capacity in California, offering travel advisors more options for clients interested in trips along Mexico’s Pacific coast.

Following its summer itineraries, Ovation of the Seas will reposition to Asia for the winter season, where it will provide shorter cruises to Malaysia and Thailand, departing from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
